Increasing energy consumption and GHG emissions, global warming, climate change,
and more frequent extreme weather events are some challenges caused by rapid urbanization. The building
sector is a major source of energy consumption and GHG emission in cities. More than 75% of Canada's
building stock in 2030 will be composed of buildings already standing today. Retrofitting existing
buildings can significantly contribute to the GHG emission and energy consumption reduction goal. Planete
GreenLeaves is a web-based platform developed to achieve Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs 7, 11, and
13) with a focus on buildings retrofitting, designing energy efficient and smart buildings, and mitigation
of extreme weather events by integration of building energy, microclimate, and AI models..
